Helpful hints for feeding your family

storm747 started this conversation

Ok ladies and Gentlemen I learned a trick over the last couple of years on saving money at the grocery store besides the main one TAKE COUPONS.

1. Meats- go either late at night or early in the morning, the butcher will be marking down meats. I have gotten pot roast, original 12.44 for 6.99 I cooked it and was able to create 3 meals for a family of 5. I have gotten family packs of chicken legs for 3.99 enough for two meals, its all good meat its just a day old and they have to move it that day. great deals to be found.

2. Dry Goods-look for the racks where they have marked down other items, the grocery is still good but maybe the box got tented, well since I am not eating the box I will take the markdown :)

3. I also suggest when you shop do not buy items from the selves at eye level as these are the high price items look on the bottom shelf or the top.

4. If you are a large family like mine, I buy in bulk, I will buy a 10 pound bag of frozen veggies and seperate them into about 10-12 pags all for 6.99. I will buy the large toilet paper about 52 rolls for 12.99 it last us for two-three months.

5. With winter on the way plan on making home made soups you can make a large pot enough to feed a family of 5 for two days and two meals each for 10.00

I will have more helpful hints in other blogs so keep checking in at my blogs
